Pearl Boateng – Monitoring and Evaluation Manager

Pearl Boateng is an International Development Specialist and Consultant whose focus is on pre-tertiary education in low-income contexts. Previous experience includes teaching Maths in UK secondary schools, conducting research for clients such as DFID, Norad and The Education Commission, teacher training and curriculum development and project/technical leadership for programmes across Africa.

Pearl is currently pursuing an ESRC-funded PhD studentship at the University of Sussex where she is researching Ghana’s Free Senior High School (Free SHS) programme. She also has an MA in International Education and Development from the University of Sussex, holds a PGCE in Mathematics from the UCL Institute of Education as well as a BSc (Hons) in Banking and International Finance from Cass Business School, London.

Pearl is a Founding Partner for Lead For Ghana, one of the first African partners of the Teach For All network. She is also a Trustee for the Gower Street Foundation which invests in education projects across Ghana. Pearl is passionate about Ghana and Africa’s progress through education and championing teachers.
